Police are appealing for information after shots were fired at a house in Heaton Norris late last night.

A hooded man who is described of a slim build and was in his late teens or early twenties fired five shots at a house in Elmtree Drive.

He had approached a house and gone to the front door, before retreating to the pavement when he fired the shots

Although people were inside the address at the time, all managed to escape without injury.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Inspector Stephen Gilbertson of GMP’s Stockport borough, said: “It is incredibly lucky that no one was injured in this terrifying incident that has disrupted the peace of this street.

“We need to find the man responsible for this, as the use of guns is something that we will not stand for in our community.

“To do this, we need your help. If you saw a man acting suspiciously last night in the area, or have any detail that could help us understand how this happened, please, get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 2414 of 26/04/18. Reports can also be made anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
