A 32 year old man has been charged with attempted murder after a police officer was run over by a vehicle in Sale at the weekend
Kyle Woods of Wendover Road, Manchester has been charged with attempted murder and dangerous driving and will appear in court today
The charges follow an incident on Sunday when an officer attended a domestic incident on Beech Road in Sale.
He was subsequently hit by a van and suffered a fractured tibia and is currently recovering from the injuries sustained.
Chief Superintendent Colette Rose of our Trafford district said; “On behalf of our officers we’d like to thank the local community for their concern and well wishes to our injured colleague.
“Everyday our officers respond to incidents with the aim of helping the public and keeping them safe and do not expect or deserve to be targeted in this way.”
