A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of serious injury by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs after the car he was driving crashed in Bolton

His woman passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries. She remains in a stable condition.

The car, a black Citroen DS3 collided with an unoccupied silver Peugeot Partner which was parked on the curb, before colliding with a wall on Stopes Street.

PC Simon Venguedasalon, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This collision has unfortunately resulted in a woman requiring surgery in hospital for life changing injuries.

“Although it was late at night, this collision happened in a residential area, so we are hopeful that people may have witnessed the incident and have dash cam footage or CCTV footage which captures either the collision or footage of the car leading up to this collision.

“If you live in the area please do check your CCTV for around this time and if you have any information at all please do not hesitate to contact police as soon as possible.”
