Polling conducted by YouGov suggests that Andy Burnham would win “59 per cent of the membership vote against 37 per cent who would back the prime minister” in a “head-to-head leadership contest”.
The poll also suggests that Burnham would beat the former health secretary Wes Streeting by 80 per cent to 10 per cent if the two men went up against each other to succeed Starmer.
