A twenty year old man has been charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault against another man in Audenshaw.
Hmdan Mensor has been charged with seven counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault by touching, and has now been remanded into custody.
He was arrested on 21 December following a report of a rape at an address in Audenshaw that day, at which point further allegations were made.
The suspect and the man are both known to one another, and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.
The man is currently being supported by specialist teams as we continue to investigate.
Detective Chief Inspector Abdul Kahar, from GMP’s Tameside district, said: “This is naturally a disturbing report to receive and we are working to establish the full circumstances of the allegations, as well as to ensure all available evidence is secured.
“We quickly secured an arrest once the report was made to us, and are supporting the man who disclosed these allegations throughout this difficult process.
“Criminal proceedings in this case are now active, and it is important that people do not speculate about this case to avoid jeopardising legal proceedings.”
