The World’s Longest Selfie Relay Chain, consisting of over 500 people, will be unveiled on Blackpool Beach this Bank Holiday Sunday.
Merlin Entertainments & VisitBlackpool have teamed up to attempt to break the Guinness World Record.

Visitors and locals have the chance to head down to the iconic Blackpool beach, to make history and get selfie snap-happy.

Currently standing at 531 consecutive selfies, the record consists of one person taking their selfie and including the person behind them. They will then pass the camera along for the next person to take a picture. Each person has 60 seconds to take his or her very own Guinness World Record-breaking selfie.

The bold stunt is part of the national #Blackpoolsback campaign for the popular family resort which sees 13 million visits per year.

The stunt will be the pinnacle of the summer-long #Blackpoolsback campaign designed to remind families that Blackpool has an unrivalled concentration of world-class attractions, award winning beaches and a season packed full of exciting events.

Head of the Blackpool Cluster for Merlin Entertainments, Iain Hawkins said: “The Guinness World Record attempt will celebrate and support activity we have been undertaking as part of the #Blackpoolsback campaign this season but on a record-breaking scale.
