If you love a bar crawl, or you’re a fan of the Ale Trail or Otley Run, a picturesque town just a 30 minute train journey from Manchester has launched its very own tour – step forward, The Glossop Hop!

The country town, which boasts beautiful 360 degree views of the Dark Peak District, is well known for its abundance of pubs, bars and restaurants per capita, and The Glossop Hop has been designed to offer visitors a taste of the best venues on offer.

Steven Dexter from Glossop Creates, which masterminded the Hop said: “It’s no secret that the hospitality industry has borne the brunt of some pretty huge global crises these last few years – from pandemics to rising energy prices, to the current cost of living situation –  our local pubs, bars and restaurants have been through the mill.

“What’s more, our pretty town, which is peppered with idyllic stone cottages and lies in the shadows of the stunning Dark Peak, is only 30 minutes away from Greater Manchester and even closer to towns such as Ashton, Stockport and Stalybridge – meaning it’s a great place for a day out and easily accessible for many.

“The Glossop Hop is tailor-made to showcase the very best of what Glossop has to offer in an easy to follow journey around the town centre. There are so many incredible establishments in Glossop and we don’t want to keep them to ourselves any longer!”

The Glossop Hop takes in traditional cask ale pubs such as The Star Inn, Distant Hills – an indie brewery with small plates to die for, legendary vegan establishment The Globe, killer cocktail bars such as Mixologist and Victoria Lounge, Cafe Bar and Deli, Two Hares, secret beer garden hotspots such as The Oakwood, Harvey Leonard’s – a wine and ale tasters with its very own wine machine and incredible charcuterie boards – AND The Crystal Ballroom –  a late-night destination that has attracted stellar Hacienda DJs in recent years. It also swings past local cultural hotspots such as the mural of Dame Vivienne Westwood by local street artist, Deggy.

Steven continues: “Cheers to an unforgettable pub crawl experience in Glossop! Enjoy the lively atmosphere, meet new friends, and create lasting memories in the gateway to The Dark Peak. We can’t wait to see what people from Greater Manchester make of our venues!”

Remember to drink responsibly, stay hydrated, and pace yourself throughout the Hop. Ensure you have a safe way to get home, such as designated drivers or public transportation options.
