The Lowry’s Associate Artist Kill the Beast return to the Salford venue to debut their hilarious Hollywood haunting Director’s Cut from Thu 7 – Sat 9 June.

The live feed comedy horror theatre show Director’s Cut debuts at The Lowry before going on a UK tour including Edinburgh Fringe.

Director’s Cut will be a hilarious farce with a twist of horror – a ghost story set on a 1970s film set. A lead actress takes her revenge from beyond the grave, determined to stop filming on the final (and truly terrible) movie she ever made. A fast-paced comedy mixed with live footage, on-stage spectacle as well as a blurring of the two.

Kill the Beast are a multi-award-winning comedy theatre company formed in 2012. They have mounted three full-length, critically acclaimed productions combining darkly comic scripts, slick physical stagecraft and inventive use of projection.

Winners of The Stage Edinburgh Award in August 2016 for ‘Don’t Wake The Damp,’ they won Best Studio Production at the Manchester Theatre Awards and the Peter Brook Festival Award in 2014, as well as being chosen as a BBC top pick at the Edinburgh Fringe for ‘He Had Hairy Hands’ and were nominated for the Brighton Fringe award for ‘The Boy Who Kicked Pigs’ in 2012.

Through its Associate Artist programme, The Lowry develops deep and long term relationships with a small number of locally-based companies with outstanding potential. Kill the Beast became Associate Artists at The Lowry in 2012 and have since received core funding, commissioning opportunities and highly specialized bespoke support to help them establish themselves on the national stage.
