Horse and Jockey is bringing back one of the season’s most quintessential pleasures with the launch of its brand new Picnic on the Green hampers.
Perfect for a sunny afternoon outdoors, the new picnic baskets are packed with locally sourced artisan treats, celebrating the best of the region’s producers, curated by Horse and Jockey and The Black Friar’s Executive Chef, Ben Chaplin.
Designed for sharing, each £49 basket serves two and comes complete with crockery and cutlery to enjoy in the sunshine on Chorlton Green, in Horse and Jockey’s sunny garden or even sitting by the river in Chorlton Water Park. Guests will pay a £30 refundable deposit on collection, with baskets to be returned after their picnic. Wine is not included in the hamper, but bottles can be purchased separately from the bar for the perfect summer pairing.
Each hamper includes Artisan baguettes, Isigny Sainte-Mère butter, hand-carved ham, local cheddar and blue cheese, homemade pickle selection, blue cheese and red onion quiche, tomato chutney, Branston pickle, freshly baked victoria sponge cake and chocolate truffles.
Picnic on the Green is available to order now for £49 per basket (serves two). Orders must be placed at least 24 hours in advance, with collection slots and table bookings available via the Horse and Jockey website here.
