One person has died and another has life-threatening injuries after reports that a car was struck by a train at a level crossing in Lancashire.
The incident happened at a level crossing in Hoghton involving the 7.51am Colne to Preston Northern service
The injured person is reported to be a child who has been taken to Alder Hey children’s hospital on Merseyside
No injuries have been reported among train passengers.
A spokesperson from North West Ambulance Service said:
“Teams responded to an incident in the Hoghton area of Lancashire after reports of a collision between a train and a car at 8.50am today (25 June).
“Several clinical teams attended the scene, including our hazardous area response team and two air ambulances.”
