A man aged 28 has been arrests on suspicion of rape and aggravated burglary In the early hours of this morning at an address on Furness Road
The suspect was located inside the property and arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
While in custody, they were further arrested on suspicion of rape and he remains in custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Mark Astbury from our City of Manchester CID said: “Officers will remain in the area as enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding this frightening incident.
“We understand this will be concerning for the local community, however we would like to reassure people that we are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation.
“Our priority is, and always will be, the victim. Specialist officers are providing support to them and their loved ones at this time, and we would ask that their privacy is respected.”
