Created by tender restaurant’s Head Sommelier Rafael Santo and tender’s Executive Chef Niall Keaitng, 1° Wine Dinner will offer 12 lucky guests a unique chance to experience some incredible wines from Vega Sicilia. Guests will be treated to eight distinguished wines from Spain and Hungary across six courses, with a specially curated menu of dishes expertly crafted by Niall Keating to offer the ideal pairing.

Featured Spanish wines include the young and intense 2018 Pintia Tempos Vega Sicilia, Vega Sicilia’s flagship 2014 Unico, 2018 Macán Bodegas Benjamin & Rothschild and 2020 Alión Tempos Vega Sicilia. From Hungary’s vineyards comes the 2016 Tokaji Aszú 3 Puttonyos Oremus, 2022 Mandolás Dry Furmint Oremus and the 2022 Tokaji Late Harvest Oremus, noted for its floral tones mixed with mellow and citric hints.

With each course, guests will also be treated to exquisite dishes carefully prepared by Michelin-starred chef Niall Kaeting to pair with each, including salted-age Lake District tomahawk steak, chorizo risotto, and wild mushroom tartlets with thyme and gruyère.

The evening will take place in Stock Exchange Hotel’s private dining room The Bank, offering a truly unique and intimate space for a dining experience like no other.  Originally from Portugal, Head Sommelier Rafael Santo has worked across Manchester’s restaurant scene since 2017, with a special interest and expertise in the traditions and wine of his home region, the Douro Valley.  He will guide guests through the evening, sharing the story behind each wine, its history, unique qualities, and how it is produced.
