Spinningfields’ all day coffee house and wine bar, Provence will be hosting a new monthly wine tasting series on the last Thursday of every month and there’s a calendar of events planned for 2023.
Provence, which offers a no-nonsense approach to wine, is making wine tastings accessible for both wine aficionados and novices alike with a series of laid-back tastings led by wine sommelier, Felicity Wattam. All questions are respected and encouraged in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
Guests at all Provence wine tasting events will be able to sample five full glasses of wine– no small tasting measures here! Added nibbles, such as a selection of bread, cheese, charcuterie meats, olives and vegetarian antipasti are also included within the £45 ticket price.
Kicking off with the first event ‘Around Europe’ on Thursday 27th April, guests will be able to do a taste tour of different wines from around Europe one sip at a time.
The event will showcase a variety of wines from Europe’s famed regions including Italy, Spain, Germany, France and Romania, the latter is said be “one of this year’s biggest trending regions” according to Niall Davey, Wine Expert at Provence.
‘Around Europe’ will introduce guests to five glasses of white, red and rosé wines including a Sauvignon Blanc from France, a velvety Italian red, a fruity dry white from Romania, a German Pinot Noir and Spanish organic rosé.
The series of events will take place on the last Thursday of every month throughout 2023.
The next event ‘Taste of Summer’ takes place in May will focus on fresh, lively and lighter seasonal wines – perfect for summer sipping. ‘South of France’ will follow in June, taking guests on a journey through the French vineyards, with more details to be announced.
