A man a judge called a “sexual predator” has been jailed after taking advantage of a vulnerable teenager.

Aberham Fekuad aged 24 of Gerald Road, Salford, has been sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for sexual activity with a child under the age of 15.

In February 2020, the victim and a friend were approached by Fekuad in Piccadilly Gardens, who persuaded them to go back to his flat in Salford with the promise of giving them money.

Once in the flat, knowing her age, he coerced the victim into sexual activity. Afterwards, he gave the victim £100, and the girls left the flat.

The victim bravely reported the incident to a family member and police a couple of days later, and following an extensive investigation to gather evidence, and a subsequent DNA match.

He was found guilty by jury at Manchester Crown Court on 8 November 2021.

He is also subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.

Detective Constable Tom Morris, of GMP’s Serious Crime Division, said: “Fekaud’s actions were nothing other than atrocious.

“What he did was all for his own perverted sexual gratification, and he spared no thought for the shattering impact that this could have on his young victim.

“I would like to thank our victim for coming forward and having the bravery to speak with police about the incident. I hope today’s sentencing acts as some form of justice for the pain he put her through.

“I’d like to also take this opportunity to urge anyone who may be, or may know someone who is the victim of sexual abuse to come forward and speak with police.

“There should be no-one made to suffer in silence and we have a wide range of specialist services that can provide you with the support you need. Your reports will also be treated with utmost respect and sensitivity.”
