Award-winning canalside bar and eatery, Roby 1844, has launched an all-new Afternoon Tea experience that’s set toturn the British traditional on its head with bold new flavours and exciting dishes.
Offering a vibrant selection of savoury and sweet bites that are anything but ordinary, the Afternoon Tea has been given a Pan-Asian twist, available for £22.95 per person including any tea or coffee.

Diners can expect a creative line-up of savouries including pork belly brioche buns, chicken baos, sesame prawn toast, vegetable gyozas and tempura courgettes. The sweet selection is equally distinctive, with cinnamon crème brulee, spiced chocolate tart, mini waffles with whipped cream and pineapple, raspberry and coconut cake and coconut bread pudding rounding off the experience. An afternoon tea rich inflavour and full of variety, it’s the perfect choice to share with friends whilst enjoying the summer sun and views ofManchester Canal.
Alongside the Afternoon Tea offering, Roby 1844 has also introduced a new brunch menu, served from 11am – 2pm on open days. Guests can enjoy a brunch dish and cocktail combo for £16.95, ideal for laid-back mornings and weekend get-togethers. Dishes range from smashed avocado and garlic mushrooms on toast to American pancakes with streaky bacon and maple syrup. Other highlights include steak and fried eggs with chimichurri, mozzarella and tomato croissants and poached eggs with bacon, tomatoes and chilli oil on toast.

The Pan-Asian flavours offer something completely different and unexpected – it’s a real talking point and we can’t wait for everyone to give it a try! Set across a two-floor outdoor terrace by Manchester’s historic canal, Roby 1844 is open Thursday through Sundayeach week, with summer hours crafted to suit every visitor. From those escaping work early on a Thursday (12:00–20:00), diving into Friday and Saturday night energy (12:00–23:00), or winding down for a Sunday canal stroll (12:00–19:00), there’s always a good time to grab a seat by the water.
