Well, this is a turn up for the books as I’ve had another decent day in work and I’m relatively chilled. How odd! It’s not doing my blog much good as I’ve nothing to whinge about!
It’s been a beautifully sunny day but quite windy so has been difficult to concentrate and I lost my mouse pointer on my screen countless times today. DOH!
When the post man came, we left the letters in the decontamination zone – also known as wherever they land in the hall – for several hours. This is a ridiculously random process but makes us feel better as surely the virus has been killed off by then.
There was one battered crammed full envelope with a second class stamp on it so I assumed it was from Dave’s side as most of my side only do first class (obvs!).
Inside was a lovely little note to us both with 2 wrist bands – a white one and a black one both embossed with “GET SH@T DONE” – as a surprise gift from “squiggle”. They clearly know us very well from what they said but it took us a good while to figure out who it was from. The intention was that we had one each but Dave gave me his as he said I was the only one who actually did get stuff done. It absolutely made our day.
Our Tuesday night quiz was devised and run by a 10 year old. It was fab and very modern as it was all on screen. The 8 year old is doing the next one but she made us laugh as she will let us know when it is ready so we can drop everything to attend as she didn’t want to be waiting around. Oh, the impatience of youth!
My List: I’m really getting into my book, The Woman who stole my Life, so read many chapters today; and snuck in a couple of episodes of The Inbetweeners and Derry Girls. They are laugh out loud funny and we often roll about the sofa even though we’ve seen them many times before.
My Lowlight: Very sad that we are now the European country with the greatest number of deaths as a result of Covid-19 at over 29,000.
My Highlight: I knew it – the masks from yesterday arrived. I’m so glad I didn’t spend the extra £11!
