Police are appealing for information as they continue to investigate the murder of Adrian Brown, aged 34, who died following a stabbing in Moss Side.

Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have captured mobile phone footage at any point during the evening of Friday 8 May 2026, in or around the West Indian Sports and Social Club on Westwood Street.

Adrian had been attending an event at the club that evening. At around 11pm, he was assaulted just outside the front entrance. The assault continued onto nearby Raby Street, where Adrian was later found by officers with stab wounds to his chest following reports of a serious assault.

He was taken to hospital, but despite the best efforts of medical staff, Adrian sadly died from his injuries. A murder investigation is ongoing in south Manchester.

Detective Inspector Alex Wilkinson said: “Adrian was at the West Indian Sports and Social Club in Moss Side on Friday 8 May, and shortly after 11pm he was attacked and received fatal stab wounds.

“There were around 200 people at the club that night, and we believe some of those present may have information that could help us understand what happened. This could include eyewitness accounts, or photos and videos taken throughout the evening.

“I appreciate that speaking to police can feel daunting. Anyone with footage can upload it anonymously through our dedicated Major Incident Public Portal.

“If you witnessed the incident, have any information about what happened, or hold CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage, please contact us as soon as possible.”
