Hot on the heels of our recent feature telling you about Brazilian-Mexican fusion concept RIO-MEX, and new sustainable vintage store, The Curiosity Shop, opening at Hatch, we hear that two new food traders opened at Manchester’s answer to Box Park.

Manchester-based dessert brand Crumbled is now bringing its dishes over to Hatch on Oxford Road after their successful residency at Mala in the Northern Quarter last year. Crumbled are known for their insanely instagrammable variations of the traditional British pud and the team has built a loyal customer base ever since they first began serving their signature de-constructed crumbles with quirky flavours. Expect classics at Hatch, such as apple, cinnamon and rhubarb, as well as more unconventional flavours include peach and Prosecco, winter berry, and apple and blueberry. The flavours will change weekly, and two different crumbles will be available each day.

Crumbled’s famous shortbread toppings are handmade and freshly baked in-house daily.  Each crumble comes with yourchoice of ice cream or creamy custard, and for and extra £1, guests can enjoy ENDLESS custard. They can even make their dessert even more special with edible glitter, pink toasted marshmallows, and loads more additional toppings.

Hot drinks are also being launched as part of Crumbled’s menu at Hatch for the first time. Guests can choose from The Crumbled (velvety hot chocolate topped with their rose-shaped pink toasted marshmallow and edible glitter), the Rose Pistachio (creamy pistachio latte topped with rose petals and edible glitter), or The Unicorn (pink hot chocolate topped with whipped cream unicorn sprinkles, edible fairy dust glitter and mini marshmallows).

“We can’t wait to bring Crumbled to Hatch – we love that independent businesses are championed here and feel like it’s the perfect place for the business to grow,” says Chloe Peers from Crumbled. “Our crumbles appeal to lovers of old school desserts, as well as people who love to be adventurous with their puds. Everyone, get yourselves down to Hatch for all of our crumbly goodness!”

Also joining the Hatch traders is new Pakistani street food spot Pukht, literally translated to ‘cooked’ in Urdu, their eastern feasts take influences from the cuisines from other parts of the globe.

Aisha Tilstone, chef and owner of Pukht, turned her lifelong passion for food into a business during lockdown producing fusion street food with a successful Cheshire based pop-up and a subsequent restaurant. A dedication to serving authentic, healthy dishes made from the finest ingredients led to five-star reviews and sell-out pop-up events. Now, Aisha is launching a new concept and menu at Hatch. Pukht’s menu includes the likes of Tandoori gyros, oven-baked spicy wings, gluten-free Pukht salad box and masala fries.

Aisha, owner and chef at Pukht said: “It’s been a tough few years for many food operators but the passion to produce good, honest food remains in our hearts. Pakistani food is so underrated, and many people don’t know the incredible flavours we can produce. Hatch is the perfect space for us to stand shoulder to shoulder with some of Manchester’s biggest and best street food vendors. There is a fantastic mix of cuisines at the destination and we’re excited to complete the Hatch family with our vibrant and fresh street food!”

Hatch supports brand new ideas helping to launch entrepreneurial fashion, jewellery, art, craft and design start-ups. Clustered around an inviting courtyard, new ventures launch on a regular basis, rewarding visitors with a fresh experience every time.

Hatch is designed with disruptive, independent businesses in mind and is run by Bruntwood – the people behind iconic Manchester destination – Afflecks.
