Chillz Restaurant Bar and Lounge, popular for its afro-infused cuisine, has revealed an exclusive first-look at what its stunning new venue is going to look like when it relocates into the city later this autumn.

Relaunching from a new venue on Chapel Street behind the National Football Museum, Chillz has published a collection of striking visualisations of the new space.

These capture a showstopping entrance-way which invites Mancunians young and old, new and existing, on the ultimate afro-inspired journey, where cultural classics are fused with established international dishes. Here, guests can also make use of the highly-instagrammable hanging chair, affixed in front of eye-catching neon artwork featuring the word ‘Italawa’, – a popular West African Yoruba phrase translated as ‘we are outside’ meaning partying and good times!

Downstairs, intimate lighting, afro-inspired artwork, eucalyptus-clad walls and imposing pink flowered trees combine to create two super-sophisticated dining spaces for more than 100 guests. When dinner draws to a close, a podiumed DJ booth and central stage becomes the heartbeat of the venue, pulsing with sound and energy to a blend of Afro beats, R&B and pop music from respected live bands and DJs.

Dramatic curved archways bring visitors into a stylish lounge where friends can congregate around cosy tables or take a stool at the bar to admire Chillz’ talented mixologists producing their range of signature cocktails. At the top of this space, glittering ceiling lights mark the luxe VIP balcony.

The owners of Chillz, Tunde Onolaja (Tee) and Enitan Omolaja (Enny), announced last month the venue is moving into the city from its current premises on Oldham Road in Failsworth to meet growing demand for its afro-fusion cuisine and glamorous, vibrant atmosphere.

First opened in September 2020, it has proved incredibly popular with diners from a range of cultural backgrounds thanks to its joyful escape boasting African and afro-fusion flavours and a dynamic nightlife scene.

The move will also see the restaurant refine its menu to offer a generous range of tasteful African-infused dishes that utilise exceptional local produce to create dishes such as steak and yam chips and fried rice with grilled tiger prawns.

Tunde Onolaja, Co-Owner at Chillz commented: “These CGIs provide just a glimpse into what our exciting new venue is going to offer Manchester city centre’s burgeoning food and hedonistic night scene. Work is rapidly progressing to transform the existing building into the ambitious vision we have for our new decadent space. After five years honing our hospitality skills in Failsworth, we’re really looking forward to bringing our unique afro-fusion dining experience and unmissable party environment to the city.”
