GRUB are proud to announce that they are launching a brand new summer beer festival showing off over 100 breweries and 200 beers from all over the north of the UK.
From Buxton to Orkney, from Northern Ireland to Northumberland and from Yorkshire to Cumbria and a dedicated 100% Manchester bar The Beer Up Here will be pouring fantastic beers, mostly in pints, to the people of Manchester over August Bank Holiday weekend.
GRUB has a strong reputation for promoting local and northern beer at their weekly street food festival so extending this approach to a full on festival was the next logical step. As with all of their events the food and the beers are going to be top notch but the real focus is going to be on everyone having a good time, everyone is welcome including dogs and kids and you don’t need to know everything about beer to enjoy yourself.
Almost all of the beers at the festival will be ‘session beers’, classic beers designed to be supped all day that you can enjoy a pint of. The breweries picked range from local modern craft beer heroes like Track Brewery alongside classic traditional family brewers such as Joseph Holts. Of course the grub has not been forgotten, on hand to provide amazing beer snacks in the form of pork pies, scotch eggs and veggie deli treats are Beehive Food.
Jason Bailey, Director of GRUB said: “It’s super important for us that our beer is produced locally, there’s really no reason to go too far to find outstanding beer and we reckon this festival really shows that off. We can’t wait to see everyone down at the festival enjoying a smashing pint”.
The Beer Up Here kicks off Friday 24th August at 12 noon and runs until Sunday 26th August with five sessions over the three days. The event is ticketed and welcomes all comers including families and dogs. A number of tickets will be held on the door for walkups.
