A section of Flixton Road, at the junction with Irlam Road, along with some neighbouring roads will remain closed due to flooding.
United Utilities has this evening restored water to properties in Flixton without supply or experiencing low pressure by deploying tankers to pump additional water into the network.
Now water supply is restored, affected customers are advised to run their cold taps for a few minutes to flush the system and remove any air or debris.
While this temporary solution is in place, United Utilities will continue its work overnight to repair the burst water main on Flixton Road.
While water levels are receding, sections of Flixton Road and neighbouring roads remain closed to traffic.
