Salford City Council and Bolton City Council have both approved Avison Young’s planning application for a 677 residential development on the 26 hectare former Brackley Golf Course.

The site in Little Hulton falls on Salford’s boundary with the western extent of the development extending into Bolton.

Jon Suckley from Avison Young’s Manchester planning team said: “Alongside the mix of houses and apartments, we have proposed extensive open space on this site, with associated landscaping and an ecological corridor. There will also be designated play areas on the north and west of the site for children and families to help create a sense of community.

“We are delighted to have secured planning on such a significant development. Both Salford and Bolton are experiencing significant periods of regeneration and investment so developments of this scale are essential to facilitate that growth and provide homes for the growing numbers wanting to live and work in these areas.”

Avison Young provided planning and Environmental Impact Assessment advice; Baldwin Design were the master planners; and CBO Transport, transport consultants.

It is estimated that the homes will be delivered over a six-year period
