Five new dates have been announced for Hacienda Classical shows with the events taking place in 2018. The show will hit the road again hoping to build on its recent success. The announcement of the tour dates comes with confirmation of a third new set.

The show has gone from strength to strength over the 20 month period since its inception. The unique mix of Hacienda’s legendary dance music and Manchester Camerata, Manchester’s experimental orchestra, has developed the show a strong following. Since the first performance in 2016, at the Bridgewater Hall, the show has been attended by 150,000 people at 25 concerts.

The production will travel up and down the UK with a June date in Manchester sandwiched between dates in Glasgow (May) and Edinburgh (August). September will see the DJ and orchestra team perform in both London and Leeds.

Musical director Tim Crooks will again be involved and believes the show will be better this time around. “In 2018 we’re refining Hacienda Classical in pursuit of perfection,” he said, “So we will be keeping the very best bits of the last two shows and adding in some new orchestrations of much-loved classic tracks.”

Crooks will be joined again by original DJ’s Graeme Park and Mike Pickering and executive producer Peter Hook. The group are currently working on the new set for the upcoming tour.

When asked what he believes is making the production so successful Park answered, “The timeless and epic quality of the music is the main reason that everyone loves the show whilst the amazing musicians and singers on the stage make sure that the songs shine through.”

More praise was given to the entire team as Crooks added, “Well in footballing terms we’ve got incredible talent on the stage and on the guest artist bench, so we’re getting better and better. And every crowd has come for a party, which is kind of what we’re specialising in here…!”
