Rregeneration company Urban Splash will launch the first apartments for sale at Mansion House in New Islington on Saturday 11th May; the company has also revealed a series of new images showing just how the homes will look inside.

Mansion House, which will sit adjacent to the New Islington Marina and the completed Urban Splash modular Town House development, is a medium-rise apartment block comprising six to ten apartments – all of which have amazing outlooks over the New Islington Marina and Park. These new, computer-generated images show in detail what the homes will look like inside, with high ceilings, dual-aspect views and a unique timber aesthetic all emphasised in the new pictures.

Urban Splash residential director Guy Ackernley said: “Manchester’s on the receiving end of something rather special here. This is the first place we’ll be offering Mansion House apartments, spacious homes, created using modular methods of construction, with an interior quite unlike anything else out there.

“We wanted to unveil these images to show just what the final product will look like – whetting the appetite of buyers ahead of our launch day – something which will be a celebration of the next phase of homes in this fantastic new city-centre neighbourhood.”

The Mansion House apartments are fabricated with sustainable cross-laminated timber (CLT) in a factory in Bilbao, Northern Spain, close to the forest where the natural Radiata Pine that forms the walls and ceilings is grown,

A number of the one and two bedroom homes will go on sale at the May event, each of them boasting dual aspect windows on each side – meaning every buyer at New Islington will get views of the Marina – as well as cross-laminated timber throughout, a material which provides warmth, environmental credentials – and a wow factor.

Just like customers at the adjacent Town Houses scheme, Mansion House buyers will also be able to choose a layout that suits how they want to live, with nine flexible apartment layouts to choose from. Centered around the kitchen, the heart of each home, the apartment options on offer range from a “simple kitchen” layout – where living space is maximized; then for those who want a more dominant home hub, island and galley kitchen layouts are available.

Mansion house is all about space. Extra high ceilings and a dual aspect flood the place with light and provide long views, making the apartments feel spacious in every direction. Add to that each apartment has a generous 8 sq m balcony, and if you’re really looking to maximise the sense of space, the two top-floor apartments at Mansion House have an additional ‘lantern’ that increases the ceiling height to nearly five meters.

Comparisons in Mansion size to average new build apartments are impressive too; with Mansion ceiling heights being 2.84m (compared to a 2.35m average on other new builds), and Mansion door heights of 2.4m versus 2.1m average. Average windows are much smaller too to save on glazing costs – whereas Mansion windows are huge to let in as much natural light as possible – the largest windows are 2m x 2.4m.

Mansion House will sit at the heart of New Islington, overlooking the Marina and Cotton Field Park and the OFSTED-Outstanding New Islington Free Schoo. Urban Splash is also progressing plans to create additional Mansion House blocks as part of its final stages of New Islington, which – alongside neighbouring Ancoats – has undergone years of regeneration to become one of the city’s most desirable districts.
