314,000 people were made redundant in the quarter while the number of UK workers on payrolls dropped slightly last month and has fallen by 782,000 between March and October due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic
The figures released this morning by the Office for National Statistics covers the period before new restrictions were brought in across much of the country
