A nineteen year old boy has been stabbed after being chased into a store on Stockport Road in Levenshulme

The victim was taken to hospital with stab wounds to his back, where he remains in a stable condition.

Detectives are treating this as an isolated incident.

Detective Sergeant Tim Berry, of GMP’s City of Manchester district, said: “This was a brutal attack, and as such we are treating it as an attempted murder.

“I would like to reassure the public that we believe this to be an isolated incident and have increased police patrols in the area whilst officers carry out their enquiries.

“This incident happened in a busy location and I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed this attack, or seen anything suspicious, to contact police as a matter of urgency. Even the smallest piece of information could prove vital in helping us to complete our investigation.”
