There’s a host of Halloween happenings at Stretford Foodhall this season as the independent community hub hosts a spooky week of fun and games for all the family including some eco-friendly ways to make the holiday better for the planet.

Stretford Foodhall kicks off their spooky season celebrations from Monday October 25th when the Foodhalls famous refill stations usually stocked with rice and pasta will be filled with Halloween sweeties for the occasion – offering a zero waste chance to stock up on trick or treat booty.

Foodhalls have collaborated with Mrs Hammonds Sweets over in Afflecks to bring the brand’s local, independent spirit to the season as well as ditching a whole load of plastic too.

On Tuesday 26th October, the festivities continue with a frighteningly fun Halloween quiz. There’s a £50 bar tab up for grabs for the winning team, as well as prizes for the runners up and those in third place.

Then, on 31st October the Foodhall will become a family Halloween Hub throughout the day. Expect a terrifying team as the Foodhalls staff will be in fancy dress and the whole venue will be given a spooky makeover… Families are invited to come in fancy dress too and there’ll be spot prizes for those the best dressed throughout the day.

There’ll be kids face painting, a ghoulish colouring in competition and spooky tunes played all day for a family friendly disco.

Across the whole weekend there’ll be Trick or Treating for grownups and kids alike as  guests who visit the Foodhall in Halloween costume and say “Trick or Treat” to the team at the counter will be given a Halloween treat (although the team reserve the right to hand out a few tricks too!).

The cake counter will be given the spooky treatment too with  awesome Halloween cakes supplied by Planet Doughnut and Silver Apples and of course the onsite General Store has everything you need for a scary movie session at home from Nell’s pizza, Shindigger Beers, Tony Maloney Chocolate, and more brilliant crisps and snacks that you can shake a spooky stick at!

Fresh pumpkins are also in stock for all your carving and soup making needs.

The Foodhall’s Halloween celebration will be taking place from 25th – 31st October with kids activities on the 31st from 12-4pm.
