This year marks the 100th anniversary of The Royal Exchange Manchester’s official opening by King George V and Queen Mary, following its refurbishment and third extension in 1921.

To celebrate the occasion The Royal Exchange is hosting its own Summer event this Saturday with live music in the Arcade from Bertie and the Spiffs – a quirky, fun swing band performing modern pop in a 1920’s jazz style. There’ll also be a roaming saxophonist playing outside the shops around the building, plus free scrumptious cupcakes given away in the Arcade – while stocks last!

Many of the shops and cafes will be joining in the celebrations, with themed special offers and exclusive in-store discounts for one day only – see here for details: Celebrating 100 Years
