What better way to do some good and support local this Christmas than by drinking festive cocktails? The purpose-led folks at Ancoats-based booze brand The Public Spirit have teamed up with some of the city’s best bars by creating some stellar drinks this December.

The activation features venues across the Greater Manchester from Ancoats to Sale and every bottle sold on the trail will help support Eat Well, including a donation from every cocktail sold at each venue – so you can be sure every drink will do lots of good.

Six fantastic venues across the city are involved with every cocktail sold throughout the month supporting local heroes Eat Well MCR to help feed vulnerable people here in the city. The complete list of venues involved in the activation are: Cane & Grain (Northern Quarter), Science & Industry (Northern Quarter), The Jane Eyre at Escape to Freight Island (Piccadilly), Speak in Code (Deansgate), Inventery (Cheadle), and Dutch Courage (Sale).

Inventery, the neighbourhood eatery nestled in the suburbs of Cheadle Hulme, Stockport is one of six bars involved in this seasonal fundraising initiative.

Each venue has crafted their own creation using The Public Spirit’s silky smooth rum and will be running the specials for a month including the Cherry Princess by the Jane Eyre at Escape to Freight Island and The Public Pomander by Cheadle cocktail bar Inventory.

Kathleen O’Connor from Eat Well said, ”It really is wonderful to see the Manchester hospitality community coming together yet again to help provide meals to people in need this winter. Times are tough right now so we’re very grateful for any additional support. I should add that the cocktails sound amazing – we can’t wait to try them!”

Eat Well MCR is a collective of Manchester-based chefs that provide meals to people living in challenging circumstances. Launched by Mary-Ellen McTague in April 2020, they have now provided over 75,000 meals across Greater Manchester and are targeting 100,000 as their next milestone.

This is their first collaboration with The Public Spirit who are also on a mission to feed local people. The Manchester-based purpose-led drinks brand makes liquor with a conscience. Founded in 2020 on the power of togetherness, and the simple act of kindness that comes with every one of their drinks. They believe no one should go hungry, so when you drink their spirits you’re giving meals to those in need. Buy 1 bottle, feed 4 people.

The special cocktail collab will run throughout the month and you can follow The Public Spirit’s website and instagram feed for updates.
