Greater Manchester premium drinks company Ten Locks has partnered with city centre bar, Junior Jacksons, to host a female networking event aimed at bringing the hospitality community together.
Called Janet Jacksons, the “girl gang takeover” will be held on 9thNovember from 5pm onwards. It aims to strengthen relationships within Manchester’s hospitality and drinks community andprovide a safe space to network and build relationships for women in the industry. Critically, it calls for women who are interested in pursuing a career in hospitality to come, have drink and speak to some of the city’s best female talent.
The event will be hosted by Ten Locks’ Penelope McMylor, a well-known stalwart of the city’s drinks scene. The purpose-led drinks firm is calling for Manchester’s female hospitality talent to come together after such a tumultuous time for the industry to nurture the future lifeblood of the industry.
Anyone wishing to join the evening will receive a welcome drink by super-cool canned cocktail brand, Ace + Freak, and enjoy aspecially created drinks menu courtesy of Ten Locks featuring brands that all strive for positive change; local brand Diablessewill feature along with incredible spirits from around the world such as El Tequileño, Langley’s Gin, Applewood Gin, Redwood Empire Whiskey and Mary White Vodka.
Becky Davies, who sits at the helm of Ten Locks, said, “After a challenging time for our city’s hospitality scene, our takeover celebrates the incredible talent we have in Manchester, while nurturing future talent to make sure the industry continues to thrive.
We’re here to celebrate our vibrant scene and share our experience with anyone interested in stepping into one of the many careers hospitality has to offer. To women across the city, I say; come on down, we’re here and we’d be proud to chat all things hospitality with you along with some of the very best personalities in town.”
From 6pm onwards, attendees will be treated to drinks created by female bartenders from some of the best bars in Manchester including Bunny Jacksons, New World Trading Company, Escape to Freight Island, Blues Kitchen and Smithfield Social
Beth Oliver from Junior Jacksons said, “The last 18 months have been tough for the industry, so anything we can do to nurture new talent and ensure that women in hospitality feel supported and welcomed is extremely important.
