The Swiss chocolaterie, Läderach has announced the opening of its tenth UK chocolaterie and its first location outside of the capital, in Manchester’s renowned Trafford Centre. The new store is set to open its doors on 26th September 2025, bringing the brand’s signature fresh Swiss chocolate to a wider audience in the North of England.

The premium Swiss chocolatier is celebrated globally for its unparalleled freshness and exquisite craftsmanship. Creating some of the freshest, highest quality artisanal chocolates in the world, Läderach’s responsibly sourced chocolate is made bean-to-bar in-house in Switzerland, finished by hand, and brought directly to its stores worldwide.

This latest expansion underscores Läderach’s ambitious growth strategy in the UK, building on the success of its nine existing London locations including a flagship store on Regent Street and concessions in Harrods and Selfridges. The Trafford Centre opening reinforces the brand’s commitment to making its fresh, artisan Swiss chocolate more accessible to a wider audience across the country.

The new chocolaterie will offer Läderach’s full range of handcrafted chocolate creations, including its signature FrischSchoggi (fresh chocolate) counter, where expansive bars are snapped by hand and sold by weight. Customers can also discover an array of pralines, truffles, Mini Mousses, tablet bars, and the popular chocolate popcorn, all expertly crafted in Switzerland.

Stephan Stegen, UK General Manager of Läderach, comments: “This is an incredibly exciting moment for Läderach. We have been working towards expanding our presence up north for some time, and we are thrilled to bring the full Läderach experience to Manchester. The city has consistently been one of our biggest online markets, with a huge number of loyal customers, and we are thrilled to finally be able to offer them our fresh chocolate in person. The Trafford Centre is a truly iconic location, and we could not have asked for a better home for our first store outside of London.”

Simon Layton, Centre Director at Trafford Centre added: “We’re excited to be welcoming premium chocolatier, Läderach, to Trafford Centre. As the first location in Manchester and outside of London, we’re sure the store will be popular with our visitors excited to try their handcrafted and luxurious products.”

Läderach’s handcrafted chocolates are celebrated for their uncompromising quality, using the finest ingredients sourced directly from suppliers and an unwavering dedication to freshness. Operating since 1962 and with the 2018 World Chocolate Master at its helm, Läderach is one of the largest chocolate retailers in Switzerland with over 220 chocolateries across 25 countries worldwide and online.
