Stagecoach Manchester has partnered with new Geocaching app, Adventure Lab, to launch a city-wide treasure hunt for families to enjoy in this year’s summer holidays.
Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game, which uses GPS to navigate participants to specific coordinates. Once at these coordinates, people can attempt to find the hidden containers, as well as answer questions in order to complete mini challenges.
Launching on 1st August, participants will need to make their way around 10 locations, all of which are scattered in Manchester. These locations include Treetops Adventure Park in the Printworks, the Museum of Science and Industry and Sea Life Manchester at the Trafford Centre. All locations are accessible by Stagecoach bus and with family tickets available from just £6.50, getting there is the easy bit!
At each location, families will complete a series of interactive tasks in order to unlock a treasure, as well as information on how to find the next spot. Participants will also have the chance to win a family day out, simply by taking a photo at each of the ten locations. As well as this, everyone taking part can sign their name on a virtual book to record their visit.
Prizes up for grabs include:
– x1 Family ticket (up to 5 people) to Treetop Nets at Treetop Manchester
– x1 KICKair family ticket
The trail will be open until mid-September to tie in with Geocoinfest Europe, which is an annual show and coming to Manchester for 2019 on September 7th. Thousands of Geocachers will be travelling to the area during that weekend to take part in the festival.
