The new Sale Foodhall is now open!

The large (5,500 sq ft) community hub on Stanley Square in Sale town centre is home to three food vendors, a bar, a large dining and drinking space and retail offering.

To celebrate the new opening, on Thursday 25th November, the Foodhall team are giving away 100 pints of their house lager.

New permanent Sale Foodhall residents Basilico pizza will also be giving away 100 of their artisan pizzas on the same day, whilst burger slingers What’s Your Beef will be giving away 100 of their beautiful burgers too.

All that local food fans need to do is follow Foodhalls, Basilico & What’s Your Beef on Instagram, look out for the giveaway post and show it on the day. The pizzas and pints will be served up on a first come, first served basis and when they’re gone, they’re gone.

The free beer and pizza feasting is part of a celebration event to welcome the local community to the new venue. Running from 5pm – 8pm on Thursday 25th November there’ll be a Foodhall Santa, free festive  sweeties by Mrs Hammonds and a special appearance by the amazing Sale Super Heroes.

The new light, spacious venue has made the most of some of the industrial aspects of the 60s building in which it’s housed on Stanley Square with a vaulted ceiling and large pillars, all styled and softened with cool pastel tiles, festoon-style lighting, a bespoke tiled bar and lots of greenery (courtesy of local florist Flower Candy and greenery specialists Masako Art and Flowers). The purpose built  kitchen spaces are large and lit with the streetfood traders’ own name in lights – it’s a place where the independent vendors are the stars of the show.

Two of the kitchen units will house permanent residents – burger specialists What’s Your Beef and Italian food heroes Basilico. Plus there’s a third space for a rotating indie food vendor which will change regularly. From Monday 22nd November this temporary space will be home to Cyprus Kousina who will be at Sale Foodhall serving authentic and beautiful Cypriot cuisine until the end of December.

The bar serves up a cracking collection of local beers from Shindigger to Manchester Union – it’s a considered range created for the perfect local drinking experience. There’s a great menu of cocktails and wines to suit everyone’s taste too.

The 150-cover dining and drinking space provides plenty of space to enjoy all the delights of the foodhall  – with the opportunity to spill onto Stanley Square. There’s plenty of room for manoeuvring prams or wheelchairs, for furry friends to join the party or for settling down with the laptop.

The curated retail experience sits to the left of the main entrance and offers a beautiful range of artisan goodies from independent producers and suppliers.

The focus in this store is specialist treats with a new range of charcuterie, cheeses and olives, just in time for your Christmas gatherings. There’s, as ever, a brilliant booze section with bottles by natural wine specialists  Le Social and a large range of local craft cans and bottles. The freezer is filled with indie ice cream brands and even frozen churros. There’s festive sweet treats by Tony’s Chocolonely, and local chocolatier Slattery’s, a large range of the best teas and coffees and lots of great snacking brands. It’s a small but perfectly formed foodie paradise.

The brand’s household essential refill stations will also be on site so customers can fill up on washing liquid and store cupboard essentials with zero waste.

Sale Foodhall is the second venue for Store Group having already proved hugely popular in Stretford. The new, bigger destination replaces Store Group’s original Sale outpost, Groceries and Beer. Plans have also been announced to roll out the foodhall concept to Cheshire with the Northwich Foodhall expected to open next year.

Mital Morar, Founder of Store Retail Group said, “Reflecting on our journey here in Sale, it feels humbling and exciting to be evolving into this really large unit from our original Groceries and Beer. The Sale community is wonderful  – we’ve been made so welcome here over the past couple of years and have become very embedded in the neighbourhood. This is our biggest foodhall yet and gives us so much opportunity to do more of what we love as a business  which is working with communities and collaborating with like minded people. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone”

The new expanded venue in Sale has created 10 new jobs in the town centre, in addition to the 10 already employed at the existing store. The Store Group are asking that any talented and enthusiastic individuals interested in a new role get in touch via the website.
