Radcliffe Borough are appealing for football supporters from across Manchester to rally around after an unexplained fire devastated their main stand on Sunday evening.

Club chairman Paul Hilton has appealed to the local community to attend the Lancashire Cup game against West Didsbury and Chorlton this evening despite half the main stand including the press room and PA box, being destroyed during the blaze.

In a statement Mr Hilton said, “This is a massive blow but we are hoping that the community rallies around and helps the club. We are going to carry on regardless and not let this destroy us.We have been overwhelmed by the messages we have received and the offers of help including financial.
