To continue the celebration of World Book Day 2018, official partner PizzaExpress is launching ‘How to Write a Novel in 60 Minutes’ kids workshops in various restaurants across the UK.

PizzaExpress knows stories can be enjoyed anywhere and everywhere, even when you’re waiting for your pizza. That’s why parents and their children are invited to join the wordsmiths from Scribbler HQ for a morning of words, wonder, suspense, twists, plots, goodies and naturally an evil old villain or two at PizzaExpress restaurants in Manchester.

The workshops will include a madcap whistle-stop tour of storytelling for 7 – 12-year olds, complete with Harry Potter, Luke Skywalker, googly eyes and dramatic arcs.

At the end, each budding JK Rowling gets to take home their very own novel, and despite being created at breakneck speed, will set a firm foundation for a lifetime of wonderful story making. There will also be lashings of delicious pizza served when the best sellers are complete.

PizzaExpress is also supporting World Book Day with a special edition of the Dough Ball Times activity pack, available in restaurants until the 25th March, featuring a £1 National Book Token and a competition where children are invited to win a year’s supply of books by designing their own World Book Day Dough Ball Bookmark.

  • Date: 24th March 2018
  • Time: 11am-12pm workshop, with lunch at 1pm for both children & adults
  • Venue: Pizza Express, Unit 3A The Corn Exchange, Exchange Square, Manchester
