The soloists from the Northern Chamber Orchestra will celebrate Beethoven’s 250th birthday with a pair of concerts in West Didsbury.

The Orchestra’s artistic director Nicholas Ward (violin) leads Paula Smart (violin, October), Simon Gilks (violin, April), Richard Muncey (viola) and Cara Berridge (cello) in two performances of string quartets spanning Beethoven’s career, along with works by Borodin and Janáček

The concerts take place on Friday 18th October 2019 and Friday 24th April 2020 and take place in the stunning surroundings of Christ Church in West Didsbury, Manchester. 

Formed in the late 1960s, the Northern Chamber Orchestra is one of the country’s top chamber orchestras. The orchestra holds its main concert season in Macclesfield’s Heritage Centre, is the Orchestra in Association at Manchester’s Stoller Hall, and performs regularly in Buxton and other venues across the North of England.
