The government is launching a new vocational qualification for students aged 16-19.
The V level comes as The Government has pledged to get two-thirds of young people into higher-level learning
The new V Levels will streamline the confusing landscape of approximately 900 equivalent vocational qualifications at level 3 currently available to 16 to 19-year-olds which mean learners and employers are unclear about the purpose and value of some qualifications
Students will be allowed to mix V and A levels, meaning they can do an academic qualification as well as something more vocational.
