Manchester’s day-to-night destination, Side Street, is spinning something special with the launch of its newest weeknight event – Bring Your Own Vinyl, where guests can curate the soundtrack of the space every Wednesday evening.

From 6–9pm, Side Street will transform into a midweek house party, inviting guests to bring their favourite records and shape the vibe themselves.

With drinks flowing and a crowd-chosen playlist, Bring Your Own Vinyl (BYOV) promises a fresh, genre-bending musical journey.

The rules are simple: bring a record, put it on the turntable, and enjoy the tunes alongside fellow audiophiles; each guest can play up to two tracks per turn, for a maximum of ten minutes. If guests fancy an encore, they can head back into the queue, keeping the night fair and the tunes flowing for everyone.

Cocktails and small plates complete the experience, with the Side Street team aiming to create a relaxed environment where vinyl heads can discover new sounds or dust off old favourites to share.
Side Street has become one of the city’s go-to spots for drinks, dining, and music, boasting one of the latest licences in the city centre.

It spans three connected but distinct areas – Side Store, Side Bar, and Side Space – each with its own vibe, catering to relaxed daytime coffee dates and late-night partying alike.
  • Side Store – Marking every guest welcome as they step into Side Street, a bright daytime hangout serving locally roasted coffee, specialty drinks, and Tartuffe’s lunch menu. By night, the space shifts into a relaxed dining spot with plates including Tartuffe’s signature ‘sexy chicken’ and elevated sides.
  • Side Bar – Up the stairs on the right of Side Store, the city’s hub for after-work drinks is tucked away. A low-lit space littered with plush couches hosting weekend takeovers, and DJ sets. With curated cocktails, wines, beers, and Tartuffe’s plates making the rounds, it’s the social heart of Side Street.
  • Side Space – Following on upstairs beyond Side Bar, Side Space is the venue’s hidden gem: a ‘secret’ space, perfect for intimate events like the newly introduced BYOV. With flexible seating and access to its own bar as well as a separate street entrance, it’s also the ideal events space for hosting private parties, creative pop-ups, and vibey socials.
BYOV joins a buzzing programme of free events at Side Street. Side Street Lates runs every Friday and Saturday from 8pm-3am, bringing house, funk, soul, and disco to the venue. On Fridays, guests can see local party collective and record label Good Custard DJs take the decks, showcasing some of Manchester’s finest selectors.
Night owls can also enjoy the IYKYK Midnight Happy Hour, with £7 espresso martinis served from 12-1am.
A weekday happy hour runs Monday to Friday from 5-7pm, with classic cocktails priced at £7 each – including margaritas, French 75s, and Aperol Spritz, making for the perfect warm-up to a night at Side Street.

Located at the ABC Building on Lower Byrom Street, Side Street has something for every mood, every day of the week.
