Taking influence from world-class hotels, Mecanica presents their latest sensational cocktail menu; an enchanting interpretation of the most celebrated hotels and rooms from across the globe.

Renowned for their meticulous levels of detail, evident across service, sumptuous surroundings and a refined approach to cocktail experiences, Mecanica hopes to elevate their creative offering in ‘Volume II – Show You To Your Room’.

Each drink is set to reflect a famous hotel or hotel room, recognised either in the tangible world around us, or in popular culture. Whether it is an establishment steeped in antiquity and tradition, or one that has been exalted by the people who frequented the hotel, each of the cocktails reflect a story of history, cultural significance – or in some cases, infamy.

Looking to enchant and captivate, the Mecanica menu takes the form of expertly crafted ‘classic’ cocktails, and carefully curated ‘house’ cocktails; all prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients that promise to invigorate the senses.

From the selection of ‘house’ cocktails, guests are invited to enjoy a creative array of elixirs, such as;

Monroe – a glamorous mirror of the ‘Pretty in Pink Suite’, nestled in the Palm Springs Hotel. It was the regular haunt for the iconic Marilyn Monroe, who was said to live on champagne and vanilla soufflé, (with Pomegranate & Vanilla Sorbet, Giffard Passionfruit,  Laurent-Perrier Brut Champagne);

Jade Mountain – a rich, strong and sultry drink, based on the exotic rooms of the St Lucian Hotel – renowned for its suites with just three walls – leaving guests open to the tropical beauty of the Caribbean, (with Chairman’s Reserve Spiced Rum, Giffard Banane du Bresil, Amaro Montenegro, Pineapple, Toasted Coconut);

Excommunicado – a short reflection of John Wick’s dishonourable title, in regular use at the Continental Hotel in ‘New York’, which acted as a territory of neutrality for the world’s most dangerous assassins, (with Maker’s Mark Bourbon, Cocchi Americano Vermouth, Sipello, Blood Orange);

Italian Noble – an aromatic twist on the negroni, inspired by iconic The Hotel Villa Carlotta, which was built in 1860 and home to a family of Sicilian nobles, (with Langley’s London Dry Gin, Sipello Aperitif, Sicilian Marsala and Toasted Fennel, which is indigenous to Sicily);

Capone’s Castle – a refreshing take on The Lexington Hotel in Chicago, which acted as Capone’s residence during the prohibition, where the basement speakeasy provided a suitable outlet to sell gang contraband gin and apple brandy, (with Langley’s London Dry Gin, Calvados Avallen, Mint, Cucumber, Soda);

And Guadalajara – a smoky, earthy and rich drink, created to celebrate the historic Hotel Frances, known as the birthplace of Mexico’s agricultural renaissance, (with Banhez Mezcal, Noix de la Saint, Jean Walnut Liqueur, Carrot Foam).

Lovingly crafted, the team from Mecanica hope that the new cocktail menu will evoke the faraway places that inspired their drinks. Each of the new drinks also feature a home-made element.

Meanwhile, all of the cocktails from Mecanica’s ‘classic’ collection are curated into cocktail families, as guests are invited to select their choice of; Martini (Pornstar, Espresso, Classic, Vesper, Cosmo, Gibson); Old Fashioned (Old Fashioned, Manhattan, Sazerac, Negroni, Rob Roy, El Presidente, Boulevardier); Daiquiri (Classic, Hemmingway, Honeysuckle, Southside, Daisy); Margarita (Classic, Tommy’s, Sidecar, Corpse River #2, Paper Plane, Pegu Club); Sours (Amaretto, Whiskey, Midouri, Pisco, Gin, New York) and Sparkling (Bellini, Champagne Cocktail, French 75, Airmail, Old Cuban, Gin fizz, Tom Collins).

Mecanica also offers a selection of red, white and sparkling wines by the glass and by the bottle, with a newly updated red and white wine list.

Partnering with the very best local suppliers to Manchester, Mecanica provides the perfect accompaniment to their cocktails through a selection of charcuterie and cheese deli boards, served with freshly baked breads. All items feature British meats and cheese from regional favourite, Butcher’s Quarter; artisan breads from Companio Bakery; Slattery’s famous delectable cakes; and coffee from just around the corner, at Grindsmith.

Tempting bar snacks also include decadent truffle & parmigiano popcorn, moreish salted pretzels and lovingly hand-made flatbreads, such as the Waldorf – with olive oil, mixed leaves, walnuts, blue cheese, pear and honey.

The new menu is available from now, with guests encouraged to settle deep into luxurious, jewel toned velvets and lose themselves in the transportative hotel tales.
