HOME’s temporary venue, Homeground is coming to a close.

Visitors have until 14 August to visit the 80,000ft2 site of First Street, just a 5-minute walk from HOME. But there are still plenty of cabaret, family shows, live music, art and DJ’s to enjoy as we enter into August.

Manchester Folk Festival takeover The Bruntwood Stage on 7-8 August, bringing some of the biggest names in traditional and contemporary folk to Manchester.

Completing the 50-day run of DJ sets, at DJ Paulette Presents Together2-6 and 9-13 August, we’ll continue to see a host of talent old and new from Greater Manchester’s homegrown, rich, diverse, and musical heritage. Enjoy summer evenings with soundtracks provided by Jaegerossa, Stanley Chow, Tom RBB, Laura Jackson, and Pablo Blanquito.

School’s out for summer and Homeground have two more unmissable events for all the family. Our Kids Social are packing up their silent disco kit, brushing off the sequins and arrive at Homeground on Sunday 8 August. Get ready for disco tunes to inspire kids vs parents dance-offs. Enjoy disco-themed crafts before heading over to the dance floor for kids’ pop vs adults’ guilty pleasures – think Little Mix vs Candi Staton and George Ezra vs Bon Jovi! The beauty of a silent disco is that you can bop along to your faves and the kids can floss along to theirs without disturbing each other!

For the action seekers and science lovers, Brainiac Live: Science Abuse explodes onto the stage on Monday 9 August. This thrilling event promises to take you on a breathless ride through the wild world of the weird and wonderful. Watch from the safety of your seat as the Brainiacs delve fearlessly into the mysteries of science and do all those things on stage that you’re too scared to do at home.

On Tuesday 10 August, the award-winning Hope Mill Theatre will take the audience on a musical journey of song and dance in A Celebration of Musical Theatre. Directed by Kirk Jameson and written and conceived by Chris Burgess, starring a cast of West End favourites, this evening of pure musical theatre joy will feature much loved classics as well as new musicals.

Following their Don’t Go Back To Sleep: The Lockdown Album, radical feminist rockstars, RashDash return to HOME on Friday 13 August with a new cabaret about art, love, and legacy. Look At Me Don’t Look At Me tells the extraordinary true story of art’s first supermodel, Lizzie Siddal. Famous as a model and muse for the Pre-Raphaelite painters, but an influential artist and poet in her own right, Lizzie Siddal led a ‘tragic life’. She’s done being tragic. Expect an hour of jam-packed tunes, while delving into the often-untold stories behind the world’s most famous painters and the women who inspired them.

The award-winning cabaret collective of colour, The Cocoa Butter Club kick off the final weekend at Homeground on Saturday 14 August boasting burlesque, circus, drag, dance and more, like you’ve never seen before.

To keep the music going throughout the final weekend at Homeground, Big People Music take over the Bruntwood Stage on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 August. Big People Music is a network & agency producing artistic, cultural and music transformation projects worldwide since 2009. Their makers, thinkers and doers form a progressive community using music as a tool for community cohesion, developing creative identities. Curating hundreds of stages, festivals, conferences, exhibitions and more, they tell your stories by carefully identifying unheard voices, communicating their worldly experiences.
