Simon Goldman, founder of the Geronimo Festival, the UK’s largest children’s’ festival would like to thank NHS workers by offering half price tickets for their families to enjoy themselves this summer.

The special edition festival will take place at Heaton Park on the 26/27th June to celebrate the lockdown removal and the return of much missed, amazing events!

Simon explains, “When my sister fell ill with Covid recently she spent time in hospital on oxygen, being cared for by our wonderful NHS. Offering a heavily discounted ticket to Geronimo is the very least we can do to say thank you. With 1000 NHS family passes up for grabs, we hope to welcome NHS staff and their families to Heaton Park for a well deserved treat.”

All NHS workers will be able to purchase a family pass for £35 instead of the normal price of £70.  The tickets must be purchased between 10th-23rd May 2021.

This ticket can include family of 4 plus a free under 3 and 2 free senior citizens so a party of 7.  Hopefully it will encourage multi-generational NHS families to be able to spend precious lost time together!

NHS workers can be assured that the festival has put lots of extra safety measures in place and anyone who tests positive for COVID so is unable to attend will receive a full refund.

Geronimo is a fun packed family festival with dazzling stage shows, fantastic arena demonstrations, live music on the main stage from huge artists, craft marquees, donkey rides, monster truck shows, a funfair and the worlds biggest bouncy castle.  However unlike any other family event in Britain, it also has something for all members of the family to enjoy- whatever their age.

Bringing out the inner child in everyone. There will be 3 fabulous showground arenas, a hive of entertainment throughout the festival with timetabled events including jousting tournaments, camel racing and more.  Adults and bigger children can enjoy high adrenaline zip lines and watch amazing motorcycle riders on the wheel of death.

No Manchester festival would be complete of course without music, for the Parents and Grandparents we are delighted to announce a legendary Manchester line up, Mr Scruff will spin the decks with a celebration of all things funky!  Bez from the Happy Mondays will also be doing DJ sets alongside the legend that is Clint Boon and other big Manchester names still to be announced. Bands like The Rockin Rhinos, Johnny and the Raindrops will be live all weekend and Big Fish Little Fish for the post-rave generation so your children’s musical education can begin here.

Set in Heaton Park the largest municipal park in Britain, the home to some of the most epic music festivals of all time, the event will be spread out to allow families to have enough space to ensure a special day out. For families that haven’t been to Geronimo before we recommend you arrive early as there is enough FREE entertainment for you to stay all day.

The ticket price includes entry as well activities and attractions within the venue (with the exception of the funfair attractions) Highlights of this special edition Geronimo will be a 20000 litre mermaid tank with displays throughout the day, our monster truck arena, 2 full circus’s, jousting knights in the arena, a Wild West re-enactment arena and not forgetting our high wire walker above you without a safety net.

We have an array of fantastic artisan food trucks to suit all dietary requirements including Halal, vegan gluten and lactose free options, for the mums and dads the craft beer garden will be serving a well deserved pint. Please note your own barbecues are not allowed in the park.

Safety is our number one priority, and this year is no different. ALL over 30’s are expected to have been vaccinated by June 15th so they’ll be welcome to the event with proof of the jab. If you haven’t had the jab yet but can show a negative Covid test within the 48 hours before entry – you’re in!

But don’t worry, if you forget your proof of test, we will have teams on hand to deliver immediate lateral flow tests to check that you’re clear. If you receive a positive result – you’ll get a no query FULL refund.

After the year we have all had we certainly think we all, including big and little kids, deserve a treat and some real family fun, tickets are on sale now.
