A 22-meter dragon skied down the UK’s longest indoor snow slope yesterday to mark the start of the Chinese New Year celebrations in Manchester this weekend.

A dragon on snow you ask? Chinese dragons are widely believed to be the rulers of large bodies of water, so Chill Factore’s cool slope was the perfect sub-zero home for the friendly, giant dragon here in Manchester.

“What a way to start off Chinese New Year! I’ve never seen a skiing dragon before, but it looked amazing. Big thanks to Chill Factore for being part of the celebration.” (Alan Chan, Manchester Chinatown Business Association member)

Taking to the slope like a duck to water, the enormous skiing dragon glided gracefully down the slope, controlled by nine of Chill Factore’s expert instructors and surrounded by mini dragons and lanterns, to create a truly snow-stopping display.

“We’re so pleased to have been able to kick off the celebrations for Chinese New Year here in Manchester in true Chill Factore fashion – big, bold and on the snow! There are so many events in Manchester that we wanted to mark the occasion in our own unique style. We’re famous for creating breath-taking activities on the snow, so we wanted to do just that for Chinese New Year. What’s more breath-taking than a dragon skiing?!” (Graham Nelson, Chill Factore spokesperson)
