On 16th December, charity Jon Egging Trust is offering science fans the perfect Christmas gift by hosting ‘Inspiration Without Limits,’ an evening with renowned physicist Brian Cox CBE FRS to raise vital funds to support the nation’s young people and give them a brighter future.
The fundraising event, which will take place from 7-8pm, offers an exclusive opportunity for fans to ask the professor of particle physics their most burning questions from the comfort of their sofa. Tickets start at £35 for a front row seat to an evening of astrophysics, and all money raised will go to fund the charity’s work to help disadvantaged young people to thrive.
A patron of the Jon Egging Trust (JET), Professor Brian Cox is a fervent supporter of the charity’s work which has helped young people across the country for the past ten years. The evening will be a digitalised event with guest appearances from Director of Space AVM Harvey Smyth and introduction from JET CEO Dr Emma Egging. Ticket holders will be invited to submit their questions beforehand and Professor Brian Cox will personally select ten questions to answer during the event.

The charity, which supports vulnerable young people – at significant risk of dropping out of education- to get back on track, realise their potential and reengage with school, specialises in delivering early intervention life-skills programmes, (centred around four pillars of inspiration, teamwork, employability and leadership). They are seeking to support more young people and teachers than ever by introducing a new digital toolkit in 2021, ‘JET Inspired,’ the first series of films and resources which have been developed in partnership with the Red Arrows and licenced by the Ministry of Defence to help young people to reengage with education and learn key emotional skills that will enable them to feel positive
Covid-19 is having a devastating impact on the lives and future of young people across the UK, with 16-24-year olds proven to be the most impacted by the pandemic and seeing the largest fall in employment. JET’s work delivering emotional toolkits to schools helps young people to rebuild confidence, motivation and self-belief, and empowers students to strive for the futures they deserve. In the wake of the pandemic JET’s work has never been more vital and the charity hopes that with more funds raised they will be able to reach more children than ever before.
