This summer, the Village Screen pop-up cinema is returning to the spectacular Peak Cavern cave in Castleton to turn the cave into a stunning cinema experience, which will also be a completely COVID- secure experience.
They are screening 12 cult classic films over three weekends, alongside delicious
street food and a drinks delivery service to cinema seats. There will also be DJ entertainment inside the cave and epic décor. All while watching some of your favourite films inside an actual cave.
Between Thursday 3rd June and Sunday 20th June, The Peak Cavern cave will host a variety of smash- hit films. There will be some family-favourites, with earlier start times for those with children, including The Goonies, Labyrinth, Jurassic Park and two films from the Indiana Jones franchise.
The Village Screen will also be screening some absolute cult classics like Alien, The Lost Boys, The Breakfast Club and Stand By Me, as well as some more recent films including JoJo Rabbit and the terrifying, Us and The Descent. See full film line up listed below.
Audiences can expect a phenomenal, well organised, and safe experience. The event will be
organised to adhere to all of the latest Government guidance and audience sizes will be scaled down in order to adhere with Step 3 of the Government’s Covid roadmap out of lockdown.
The Village Screen will be ensuring that all groups attending are sat socially distant from other groups during each screening event.
Customers will be able to purchase tickets in groups of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 and there will be a staggered arrival system to keep the event extra safe. Customers will be seated in their “support bubbles” at the events; socially distanced from other groups.
Guests will be able to purchase food from local street food legends in the car park area of the cave, before meandering through the village of Castleton and taking their seats inside the cave for the DJ and film experience.
Once seated, guests will be able to order drinks and cinema snacks to their seats via an app, all whilst sitting back and enjoying some epic DJ entertainment.
All furniture, surfaces and customer toilets will be frequently sanitised by Village Screen staff and there will be multiple hand washing facilities on site for guests too.
This summer will be The Village Screen’s fifth year at the Peak Cavern cave, which audiences have described to date as a “truly amazing experience” with a “phenomenal” atmosphere.
Tickets are likely to sell out fast, so guests are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
