A 55-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning after the body of a man was found in Miles Platting this lunchtime.
A Home Office Post Mortem is due to take place later today to establish the cause of this man’s death at an address on Bradford Road.
Enquiries into the full circumstances around this incident are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Dave Sinclair of GMP’s City of Manchester Division, said: “We have been working around the clock to establish how this man died and are carrying out a number of enquiries in the local area.
“If you live nearby and saw or heard anything suspicious yesterday afternoon, it’s really important that you share this with police at the earliest possible opportunity.
“This man’s family are being given specialist support at this difficult time, but you can help them by passing on any detail that could help our investigation.
“I would also stress that this appears to be an isolated incident and so would like to reassure that there is no wider threat to the community.”
