One event for the weekend which you may be interested in is Let’s Go Global’s Big Poppy Picnic taking place at Ordsall Hall this Sunday.
It will be an afternoon of performance, music, poetry and artwork and a vintage-style picnic in the beautiful gardens of Ordsall Hall as part of the First World War Poppy Project.
Visitors are promised the opportunity to Sing-along to a selection of wartimes songs, create something lovely in the arts and crafts marquee and sample some of the traditional goodies on offer.
There’ll be exhibitions and film screenings, plus the first chance to explore and download a new artwork-app.
It is all part of the Big Poppy Project, an ambitious new digital arts project exploring a contemporary, conceptual view of the First World War Centenary which is happening in libraries across Trafford, Stockport, Manchester and Salford with local communities.
