Yard & Coop

Yard & Coop has launched a Kickstarter campaign (1 November) and is calling on the people of Manchester to help the restaurant reach its goal.

After first opening Yard & Coop in Manchester’s Northern Quarter in July 2015 and in just a short time it has become renowned for its tasty fried chicken dishes with its infamous buttermilk recipe, which took owners Carl and Laura Morris hundreds of attempts to find the perfect combination and to this day remains a closely guarded secret.

Nearly four years later, Yard & Coop has become a part of the Northern Quarter furniture, with Manchester folk always coming back for more of their favourite buttermilk fried chicken. Now, Carl and Laura are calling on all of Yard & Coop’s North West fans to help them reach their crowdfunding goal of £50,000.

Carl explains more: ”When we opened in Manchester we invested everything we had (plus the rest from friends and family) into making our crazy idea a real restaurant. It really was all hands on deck, with Laura’s dad making our tables and us scouring car boot sales for furniture and the odd skip dive here and there for fittings.

“We’re keen to expand and grow our North West born business but getting the banks to support small businesses is hard, so this time we’re calling on our mates, fans and any future diners to become part of Yard & Coop’s next adventure.”

Yard & Coop’s Kickstarter campaign is live right now, with the restaurant needing to raise £50k in just 30 days. Let’s do the maths, that’s £1667 a day, £69.44 an hour, £1.16 a minute, and this is where the Home of Buttermilk Fried Chicken needs your support.

Laura adds: “Manchester has made for an incredible four years, but times are changing. Yet even when things go well, sometimes you just need a helping hand. So we’re calling on all fans and future Chicken lovers from across the city to help us get this Manchester company to the finish line and be part of Yard & Coop’s history.”

Whether you’ve got a cheeky spare £25 to a flush £1k, there’s a range of options for however much you can afford to, or would like to pledge. Plus, there’s a tonne of rewards, from exclusive invites to opening parties, an ‘I own a Chicken Shop’ tee, to free chicken for a year and even for life, yes that’s right FREE CHICKEN FOR LIFE to enjoy in any and all of our restaurants, all depending on the level you can donate.

People keen to invest in their favourite chicken restaurant have just 30 days to sign up, with the campaign having an ‘all or nothing’ policy. If Yard & Coop does not manage to reach its £50,000 target in the time period, they will lose the entire investment, however close they are to the final goal.
