Previous Film of the Festival winners FGKO will return to Manchester for the world premiere of their new short film Seconomist Soufflé as part of Manchester Film Festival 2019’s Opening Night Gala on Saturday 2nd March at 7PM.

The tells the story of Jose, a former boxing champion who is trying to live with his past, whilst taking a young fighter, Enzo, under his wing. Tensions arise with Enzo’s trainer, who is less than impressed with Jose’s return to the world of boxing.    


FGKO, which stands for directing duo Fabrice Garçon and Kévin Ossona will be in Manchester and will be taking part in a post screening Q&A.

The directing duos previous film, Thugocratie was the big winner back at MANIFF2016, picking up Film of the Festival, Best Feature, Best Director and Best Actor and went on to have successful theatrical release in its home country of France.

The director’s reunion with MANIFF sees the festival further its celebration of past alumni while screening fresh work from one of France’s and independent cinemas most exciting directing talents. The addition of Second Souffyto the Gala screening of Hotel MUmbai makes MANIFF2019’s Opening Night one that no cinema fan should miss.
