Over one hundred varieties of gin will be landing at Victoria Baths for its first ever Gin Festival next March.

In a weekend of tastings and expert masterclasses, visitors will discover new varieties and learn the history of one of Britain’s favourite spirits.

The ‘Males 2nd Class’ pool will be the setting for gin brands from around the world to showcase their products, from the London drys to flavoured gins. Industry experts will be on hand to recommend the best garnishes to sample with each variety, and the Turkish Baths will be transformed into a cocktail bar offering the perfect G&T and much more besides. Other highlights include a deconstructed tasting of nine traditional gin botanicals in their raw forms.

Brands on offer include Masons Yorkshire Gin, Gin Mare and SLOEmotion, as well as new varieties from boutique distilleries around the UK. Live music from acoustic bands and food from artisan producers, located in the ‘Female’ pool, will all be part of the festivities.

Gin Festival is founded by husband and wife duo Jym and Marie Harris, who have made it their mission to bring the beer festival experience to gin lovers. Jym comments, “Expect great gin, brilliant music and a lot of fun! We’re welcoming gin enthusiasts and novices, and if you’re new to it we’ll be there to recommend some of our favourites. Victoria Baths is a such a quirky venue with a real sense of soul, we can’t wait to make a splash there!”.

Gin Festival at Victoria Baths takes place Friday 27th, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March 2015. Both afternoon (12noon – 5pm) and evening (6pm – 11pm) tickets are available, each costing £7 plus an £0.83 booking fee. Drinks tokens are available with a gin, mixer and condiment of your choice costing £5.
