Two women, aged 36 and 27, and a 15-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a post-mortem on a 51-year-old man confirmed he died of a stab wound

Peter Richardson was found collapsed at an address in Wythenshawe on the 21st May and died shortly afterwards in hospital

Detectives began an investigation, reviewing the circumstances of the man’s death and established an incident involving Peter had taken place at an address on Greenwood Road a short time prior to him collapsing.

There are currently a number of scenes in place on Greenwood Road, Topfield Crescent, Moorcroft Road and Brookcroft Road while investigation work is carried out in the area.

Detective Chief Inspector Liam Boden, of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “First and foremost I would like to express my deepest sympathies to Peter’s family and friends who are mourning such a tragic loss.

“Whilst we have made arrests, I want to stress that our investigation remains very much ongoing.

“We have a dedicated team of detectives working around the clock and they are continuing to review this case.

“As with any murder investigation, we will leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of justice and will follow every single possible line of enquiry available to us. We are determined to get answers for Peter’s loved ones.

“I would urge anyone who thinks they may hold information to please get in touch with us as even the smallest detail could prove absolutely vital and assist our enquiries.”
